HO CHI MINH CITY (17 Nov 2015) – Bangu Atletico Club of Brazil won the BTV Cup this week after beating South Korean Students’ 3-2 in the final.
Gabriel do Carmo scored the opener just five minutes into the game before doubling the advantage three minutes later with a cheeky back heel. The Koreans fought back with their first goal of the game on 13 minute through Sim Minsop.
Kim Geonhee then converted a penalty late into the game for extra-time.
But the loss of Jang Chunyong to a red card turned the match to Bangu’s favour when captain Antero de Souza fired in the winner for the win.
Bangu Atletico walked away with VND500 million (USD 22,200), while Korean students pocketed VND300 million (USD 13,300).
In the meantime, hosts Becamex Binh Duong emerged third in the competition when they beat Japanese student squad 3-0.
