BANGKOK (9 April 2016) – A 5-1 whipping of BEC Tero Sasana pushed Bangkok Glass FC to the summit of Toyota Thai Premier League as they opened up a two-point advantage over their closest rival Bangkok United.
Lazarus Kiambi had opened account in the 26th minute for the Glass Rabbit before BEC Tero replied with the equaliser seven minutes later through Sivakorn Tiatruk.
But at home, Bangkok Glass were just too confident as they then put their noses in front once again through Chatree Chimtale in the 38th minute to put themselves 2-1 in front.
The second half was all Bangkok Glass as Ariel Rodriguez (57th minute), Peerapong Pichitchotirat (76th) and Praweenwat Boonyong (82nd) all the found the back of the net to complete the rout.
In the meantime, Bangkok United kept up the pressure on the league leaders with a close 1-0 win over BBCU with the only goal of the game coming early in the 18th minute through Bahraini striker Jaycee Okwunwanne.
Elsewhere, defending champions Buriram United edged Pattaya United 3-1 on the road as Muang Thong United thrashed Navy 4-0.
Chonburi got the better of Osotsapa 3-0 while Sisaket beat Army United 3-0.
