BANGKOK (12 May 2009) – Bangkok Glass FC still maintained their place at the top of the Thai Premier League 2009 – even though they are just a point ahead of second-placed Chonburi FC.
Bangkok Glass, who had scored a confident boosting 1-0 home win over Muang Thong in their previous match, stuttered to a 1-1 draw against BEC Tero Sasana this time round. With two points loss on the part of Bangkok Glass, it allowed Chonburi to close the gap on the leaders as they notched back to back wins over Bangkok United (a 5-1 thrashing) and then 1-0 over Samud Songkram this week. Third at the table is Osotsapa FC, who made up for their 1-1 draw against TTM Samut Sakhon in their last match to beat TOT FC 2-1. In the meantime, defending champions Provincial Electric of Thailand are currently languishing ninth at the table following their third draw on a trot – this time 2-2 at home against Chula United. The next match day will be on 16 May 2009. CURRENT THAI PREMIER LEAGUE 2009 STANDINGS (After 9 matches) 1. Bangkok Glass FC 21pts (+7) 2. Chonburi FC 20pts (+7) 3. Osotsapa FC 20pts (+6) 4.
