SINGAPORE (18 March 2012) – A hard fought 2-0 win at home over Woodlands Wellington has given Balesier Khalsa FC the lead in the S-League – one point over second-placed DPMM FC and Albirex Niigata on third.
The game was close to say the least with both teams battling to a scoreless draw at the break. But the last ten minutes of the match would turn out to be pivotal when Kim Minho finally opened up the cagey Woodlands’ defence for the first goal at the Toa Payoh Stadium.
Ruhaizad Ismail then wrapped things up for the full points three minutes later for Balestier to pick up their third victory in five matches.
In the meantime, Malaysia’s Harimau Muda squad was held to a scoreless draw by Albirex Niigita at the Yishun Stadium. The one point has left Harimau Muda on fifth at the standings with seven points from three matches.
