SINGAPORE (13 Sept 2009) – Singapore international defender Baihakki Khaizan has almost completed his move to Indonesia Super League (ISL) side Persija following his recent trip to Jakarta.
Baihakki (pix) met with Persija club officials this week and has agreed terms although he will now have to get the green light from his club Geyland United to leave the team two months earlier from his current contract. The ISL will begin next month. “I feel relieved and happy that my desire to play in a foreign league will now become a reality,“ said the 25-year-old Baihakki. “I hope that there will be no problems to my joining Persija where I see it as a point to improving my game. “Playing in the Indonesia Super League will be a fantastic experience in terms of competition as well as the fanatical support of the fans. I am looking forward to that.” Apart from Baihakki, another Singapore international defender Precious Emuejeraye has also signed for Sriwijaya FC. |
