BAD START FOR NAGA; BOUENG KET ON SECOND IN CAMBODIA

PHNOM PENH (13 March 2012) – Former champions Naga Corp FC had a bad start to their campaign in the new Metfone Cambodia League 2012 when they fell to a 4-2 loss to National Police as newcomer Boueng Ket Rubber Field dumped Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC 3-1.

Naga, the league champions in 2007 and also 2009, went in front in the 14^th minute off Kop Sa as Natoinal Police struck back with three goals off Tit Dina (16^th and 22^nd minute) and Sum Vutha in the 18^th minute. The score at the end of the first half was 4-1 to the advantage of National Police when Choun Chum slotted home the penalty in the 42^nd minute.

With three goals in front, National Police took a step back after the break to allow Naga to score just one goal in the second half through Noun Borey in the 62^nd minute.

In the meantime, Cambodian league regular Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC fared no better when they fell to a 3-1 loss to Boueng Ket.

The score at the half was 2-0 for Boueng Ket with Momoh Degule Sumaila scoring the early lead in the fifth minute before Cambodian international Keo Sokngon added the second goal on 44^th minute.

Kirivong pulled a goal back through Pich Seyha in the 68^th minute but it was to no avail when Nwakuna Friday scored the third goal for Boueng Ket in the 74^th for the final scoreline.

Elsewhere, Build Bright United beat Chhlam Samut 2-0 while National Defense Ministry FC battled to a scoreless draw against Western University.
