MANILA (12 Oct 2016) – AFF Suzuki Cup co-hosts Philippines suffered back to back losses this week as they look to inject more confidence into a team that has been touted to make their first ever place in the final this year.
The Philippines – the losing semi-finalists for the past three editions of the AFF Suzuki Cup – conceded a 3-1 loss to Bahrain last week and where this week, they also fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of DPR Korea.
Both matches were played in Manila.
Pak Kwang Ryong broke through in the 11th minute when he nodded home a corner before Pak Song Chol (38th) and Jong Gwan (68th) beat Philippines keeper Roland Muller twice more.
Substitute Iain Ramsay got the consolation for the home team in the 76th minute.
