YANGON (31 Jan 2015) – Ayeyawady United have taken over the top spot in the Myanmar National League 2015 following their comprehensive 5-0 beating of Manaw Myay FC this week.
In the match that was played at the Youth Training Centre, Navmou Riste grabbed a double with goals in the 35th and 41th minute, followed by a hat trick from Fonseca (45th, 52nd and 89th minute).
The win allowed Ayeyawady to take over the leadership from Yangon United – even though the latter were also on target as they thrashed Zwekapin United 3-0 at home.
Cezar was on target in the fifth and 65th minute to be followed by an own goal from Zuparic in the 19th minute.
Closing in on third is defending champions Yadanarbon FC who edged Rakhine United at the Bahtoo Stadium. Following a first half deadlock, Bernard’s own goal in the 85th minute was a gift as Foday then added the second goal two minutes later.
Elsewhere, Zeyar Shwe Myay FC beat Chin United 2-1 while Hantharwady United battled Kanbawza FC to a scoreless draw as did Magwe and Nay Pyi Taw.
