Attended by UEFA’s best futsal referees and instructors, the course aims to continue to improve the quality and consistency of UEFA elite futsal referees.
The course will involve a balance between practical and theoretical sessions and will focus on understanding recent amendments to the Laws of the Game.
Invitation to the UEFA course adds to a growing list of achievements for Colley who was named the AFC Most Outstanding Futsal Referee in 2014 and was also officiated at the AFC Futsal Club Championships held in IR Iran earlier this year.
Speaking before he departed for Belgrade Chris said he was looking forward to the experience.
“The exchange program is a great initiative between the two confederations (AFC and UEFA) which has allowed us to receive coaching from European instructors and allowed referees from two different confederations to share thoughts and ideas amongst ourselves.
For me – the biggest development in the game in the past five years has been the technical study undertaken to the physical and mental requirements of refereeing futsal. This course is another opportunity to learn from UEFA and then share this information domestically.”
