DILI (13 Nov 2011) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have postponed the Asean Zone competition of the AFC Futsal Championship 2012 qualifiers due the current flood situation in Bangkok, Thailand, until further notice.
The AFC inform the participating nations that the decision was made after much thought and consideration this week.
The AFC believe that it is in the interest of everyone – the participating nations, AFC delegation and host association– for the competition to be held sometime in the future under more conducive conditions.
The AFC will monitor the situation in Thailand and advise the MAs about the suitable dates in due course.
The Asean Zone consists of Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Malaysia whose qualifiers were supposed to be held from November and December in Thailand.
