BANGKOK (22 Dec 2012) – Uzbek Irmatov Ravshan, three-time former Asian Referee of The Year, has been appoined to handle the second leg AFF Suzuki Cup final between Thailand and Singapore tomorrow night.
Irmatov, voted the best Asian referee in 2008, 2009 and 2010, is rated among the best referees in the world. He missed out on a fourth Asian title last year after being pipped by Japanese Yuichi Nichimura.
At the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Irmatov was given the honour of blowing for the opening match. He went on to officiate several more matches in South Africa including a quarterfinal tie.
Both coaches had expressed positive comments on the selection of the coach for the match.
The Assistant Referees for tomorrow’s final are Rasulov Abdukhamidullo and Saidov Jakhongir – also from Uzbekistan.
