JAKARTA (11 Nov 2012) – Djohar Ariffin, the president of the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) has estimated that the Indonesia national team will need around IDR 2 miliar (USD 208,000) for their challenge in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012.
“We made this estimation based on their stay in Kuala Lumpur as well as their continued challenge in the competition after the preliminary stage,” said Djohar.
“Usually, the Ministry of Sports would have sponsored our campaign as they had done previously in 2010. But since they have not disbursed the money, we have had to look to the sponsors for assistance.
“We are confident that we can get the money to finance the team. At the same time too we hope that there is an expeditious effort from the Ministry to get the money to the team.
“We understand that since the money is from the government, there are natural several procedures which they have to follow.”
Indonesia are in Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup where they will be based in Kuala Lumpur against hosts Malaysia, Singapore and Laos.
