HANOI (13 Dec 2012) –Two Vietnamese clubs have officially put in their dissolution papers which will see them unable to take part in the V-League 2013, scheduled for kick-off early next year.
The two clubs who have withdrawn their participation are Navibank Saigon FC and Hanoi FC. As such, five players from Navibank Saigon FC have now been transferred to Saigon Xuan Thanh FC.
The five players are Quang Hai, Tai Em, Long Giang, Viet Cuong and goalkeeper Quoc Cuong with the rest of the players now allowed to look for other clubs.
But even the position of Saigon Xuan Thanh FC is safe where they are also facing financial difficulties.
“We are in economic difficulties. We have been told to cut down funding for the team by 45% compared to the previous season. The club still owes some players four months’ salary. We have asked for help from the Ho Chi Minh City authorities, but we have not received a response. Therefore, the FC may not compete in the next football season,” said Saigon Xuan Thanh FC’s CEO Tran Tien Dai.
Other clubs in jeopardy are Ninh Binh FC and Khanh Hoa FC.
