SINGAPORE (19 Nov 2012) – Three-time champions Singapore scored a morale boosting 4-0 win over Pakistan tonight at the Jurong West Stadium in their final tune-up match before they head into the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 next week.
Singapore were the winners of the ASEAN crown in 1998, 2004 and 2007.
Shi Jiayi, who had missed a penalty against the Philippines last week, finally found the back of the net early in the second minute before striker Khairul Amri added the second goal on 30th minute for the Lions to be comfortably 2-0 in front at the half.
Shahril Ishak added the third goal for the homesters in the 75th minute as veteran Aleksandr Duric added the fourth three minutes from the end.
Singapore will leave for Kuala Lumpur on 22 November 2012 where they will be up against hosts Malaysia, Indonesia and Laos.
