KUALA LUMPUR (27 Nov 2012) – Append below are the quotes from the pre-match Press Conference for the match between Indonesia and Singapore tomorrow.
Nil Maizar – Indonesia chief coach
“I hope that we will perform better than how we showed against Loas in our last match. The Singapore team seems to more confident after beating Malaysia. They have many experience players in the team, so obviously we have to be a little careful.
Obviously we have to replace the goalkeeper that has been suspended while the fate of Tonnie Cussel will only be known tomorrow. I will have a discussion with the coaching staff tomorrow to decide the best 11 for the game against Singapore.
I think that the area we have to concentrate on will be the defence as Singapore have shown to be quite an attacking side as proven when they beat Malaysia in their last tie. We have to be more compact and not give them space otherwise we will have problems.
Looking at Singapore, I believe that they have the more experience where they basically have the same team from 2008 and 2010 with the addition of several younger players.
I want the players to take this game full on and as a challenge for them to perform with the right spirit. Winning the game is very important as after this we only have one more match to play for.
Every player will have to play their role well.”
Radojko Avramovic – Singapore chief coach
“We have to do the right recovery for the next match (against Indonesia). We had good training and proper stretching yesterday as planned. And we are looking forward to play tomorrow.
The situation with Mohamad Shaiful Esah Nain is 50-50 where we hope that he can recover in time to play tomorrow In case, he does not take to the field, Saiful’s place will be taken over by Irwan Shah.
Indonesia have several experienced players on board where they have played at the last Suzuki Cup, so it will be a good fight. We are studying the way our opponent play rather than as individuals.
We always respect whoever is our opponent but in a game, any player can be good – even defenders can score goals. So we have to prepare well.
We are in a good position to win the full points so we should take full advantage.”
