JAKARTA (6 Nov 2012) – In spite of all the difficulties over the last few weeks over the unavailability of players and match cancellations Nil Maizar, the chief coach of Indonesia, has still maintained a positive front as he look to name his squad of 22 players for the AFF Suzuki Cup this month.
With exactly 22 players now in training, Nil said regardless of how many players attend turn up for camp over the next week, he has already got the picture of the 22 players he will register with the Asean Football Federation (AFF).
“We have played against DPR Korea, Vietnam and Brunei previously and I already have the picture of who we should bring to Malaysia,” said Nil.
From 17 players previously, the team is now joined by four players from Semen Padang and they are Hengki Ardilles, Vendri Mofu, Novan Setya Sasongko and Wahyu Wijiastanto. Newly-signed Mitra Kukar keeper Samsidar is also back in the fold.
“They have been with the team for the last six month, so missing them for just five days is not too much of a problem,” added Nil.
