BANGKOK (6 Dec 2012) – Injury-free Thailand are in anxious mode as they count down to the day when they will take on Malaysia in the first-leg, semi-final of the AFF Suzuki Cup this week.
Malaysia will be hosting Thailand at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on 9 December 2012.
While Malaysia are struggling with injuries including to winger Wan Zack Haikal and also striker Safee Sali, the Thais are already in full swing as they draw up plans to thwart the progress of the defending champions for a place in the final.
“Everyone is in good condition. There are no injuries in the team so training has been very good,” said Winfried Schaefer , the chief coach of Thailand.
“We are working on some ‘things’ for the game against Malaysia and we hope that we can take back something positive from the game in Kuala Lumpur.”
The only question mark for Schaefer at this time is on midfielder Datsakorn Thongloa on whether he has made a full recovery from the groin pull he sustained from Thailand’s first match in Group A against the Philippines.
