JAKARTA (15 Nov 2012) – Indonesia will be hoping to sharpen the front line when they take on the Cameroon Under-23 team in a friendly that will be played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Saturday.
The match was initially supposed to be played tomorrow but due to flight delay, it has been postponed to a day later.
Nil Maizar (pix), the chief coach of Indonesia said that the team will have to improve after what was felt as a disappointing outing against Timor Leste.
The losing finalist of AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 scored a slim 1-0 win over the Tiimorese with the only goal of the game coming off veteran striker Bambang Pamungkas.
“The performance (against Timor Leste) was not what we expected. The combination was not at a level which we would have liked. Hopefully in the next match (against Cameroon), they can play a lot better,” said Nil.
In the meantime, Cameroon will be utilising their Under-23 side when they take on Indonesia.
The Cameroon FA decided to send their Under-23 team instead of the senior side as they wanted to give the team more exposure.
“The U23 team rarely get the chance to play abroad, so we have decided to send them to Jakarta instead,” said Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso, the chief coach of Cameroon.
