Arema in Control in the West; Mitra-Persipura battle in the East

MALANG (30 June 2014) – While Arema Cronus take a firm grip of the Western Division of the Indonesia Super League (ISL) 2014, Mitra Kukar are battling defending champions Persipura Jayapura for control of the Eastern division.

Arema have opened up a five point advantage at the top of the Western division where they have amassed 35 points from 15 matches played. On second is Semen Padang with 30 points from 16 games.

In the Eastern Division, Mitra Kukar are currently in the lead with 32 points from 15 matches while defending champions Persipura Jayapura are on 29 points from the same number of matches played.

With only the top four teams from each divisions making into the next round of the ISL, the fight will begin in earnest when the ISL resumes after Idul Fitri, on 8 August.
