ANUCHA HELPS CAT TELECOM WIN OVER TOT

BANGKOK (7 March, 2008) – A double from Thai international striker Anucha Munjarern gave his Cat Telecom team a crucial 4-2 win over TOT as they moved up to third in the Thai Futsal League 2007-2008.

Anucha who has been a consistent performer for the national side, scored twice in the second and 30th minute before further goals from Jirawat Sornvichien (12th minute) and national team mate Kiatiyot Chaleamkhet (24th minute) gave them the full points.

TOT only managed to score a goal in each half (Anuwat Patan in the second minute and Sermphan Kumthinkeaw in the 38th minute) for the loss as they slipped to fourth in the standings.

In the meantime, a battling Port Authority of Thailand had to come back from being a goal down to RBAC’s early fifth minute strike from Natee Jipon to haul in the full points with a 6-4 victory.

Ukrit Taengrtung’s seventh minute equalizer was just what Port Authority needed as they added further goals off Charnyuth Muangjun (8th minute), Alongkorn Pathumwong (14th minute), Surachai Boonrat (15th and 16th minute) and Wuttichai Thintawee (27th minute).

The win has allowed Port Authority to maintain their position at the top of the table with just a point advantage over second-placed Chonburi Bluewave.

Chonburi kept the pressure on Port Authority with an easy 8-3 beating of Nonthaburi.

Krisda Wongkeaw started the ball rolling with the first goal in the second minute before scoring his second of the afternoon in the 16th minute.

From then on, it was all Chonburi as Lertchai Issarasuwipakorn (14th and 34th minute), Surasak Arjeiam (25th minute), Sila Timtaeng (25th minute), Nattpol Suttiroj (33rd minute) and Willyan Christyanno (38th minute) all made the score sheet.

Meanwhile, basement side Nakhornratchasima finally picked up their first point in the league this year when they held Samutrprakarn to a hard-fought 3-3 draw.

A five minute blitz in the second-half – Paranya Nawicha 33rd minute, Charan Charnprecharat 37th minute and Yospol Tansuwan 38th minute – made sure that Nakhornratchasima do not end the league without even a single point to their name.
