SINGAPORE (31 Oct 2016) – Albirex Niigata FC (S) picked up their fourth crown in Singapore this season when they beat Tampines Rovers FC 2-0 in the final of the RHB Singapore Cup.
In front of a crowd of close to 5,000 at the Jalan Besar Stadium, Atsushi Kawata nailed the opener in the 28th minute, before Kento Nagasaki secured the second goal of the game three minutes to the end.
The win for Albirex completed the domestic quadruple following their win of the Great Eastern Community Shield, The New Paper League Cup also the the Great Eastern-Yeo’s S.League Championship.
“Congratulations to Albirex Niigata FC (S) for winning the RHB Singapore Cup and achieving the clean sweep of all four titles this season. The club has performed very well both on and off the pitch and are deservedly champions this season,” said S.League CEO Lim Chin.
