JAKARTA (1 Sept 2012) – Aji Santoso is a man on a mission. The chief coach of the Indonesia national Under-23 team is out to make sure that they get the better of their Malaysian counterparts in the SCTV Cup next week.
The Indonesia U23 team was denied the gold medal by the Malaysians at the SEA Games last year while last month, the team was thrashed 6-0 by a Malaysian Selection side that was comprised of their U23 side with a smattering of veterans and foreign players.
“I don’t know anything about the Malaysians. But they have had a good preparation. They are playing in the Singapore league and had also trained in Slovakia. But I feel confident that we can match them. My target is to play well and win,” said Aji (pix).
Other than the game between the Indonesian U23 team against their Malaysian neighbours on 9 September, the SCTV Cup will also see the Indonesian national team playing against DPR Korea the day after.
Both games will be played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
