JAKARTA (3 Oct 2011) – A side from Wamena in Papua has been given the nod by the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) to represent the country for the second time at this month’s AFF Women’s Championship in Vientiane, Laos.
The team last represented Indonesia at the last championship in Myanmar in 2009.
“The Tolikara Soccer Association’s women team has been re-appointed by PSSI to represent Indonesia in Laos this time,” said S.T Yarona, the secretary of PSSI’s Papua branch to Tempo.
“We hope that through this re-appointment, it will us here to maintain our achievement and pursue better results in the future.”
The team is now undergoing a rigorous training schedule in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency for the meet scheduled for 16-25 October 2011.
