HANOI (22 Aug 2011) – Defending champions Vietnam will begin intensive training only next month in preparation for their title defence in the AFF Women’s Championship 2011 which is to be hosted by Laos in October.
The meet has been slated for 15-25 October and will be played out at the National Stadium in Vientiane.
Vietnam are in group A of the championship with Indonesia, hosts Laos and Singapore, who they will play against in their opening match on 16 October 2011.
Group B are Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and the Philippines.
The Vietnam women’s team had earlier in the year failed to make the cut for the final round of the 2012 Olympic Games qualifiers when they lost out to ASEAN neighbour Thailand.
