HO CHI MINH CITY (13 Sept 2012) – Hosts Vietnam made it all too easy in their opening game in Group A of the AFF Women’s Championship 2012 tonight when they strolled to a 10-0 beating of a hapless Singapore side here at the Thong Nhat Stadium.
But coach Chen Yen Fa was not at all too satisfied with the performance of his chargers where he felt they should have showed more respect to their opponents.
“It was a one-way game and sure had scored a lot of goals but the performance could have been more polished. They should have shown more respect to Singapore,” added Yun Fa.
Striker Nguyen Thi Muon grabbed a personal best with four goals (6th, 17th, 23rd and 39th minute) as Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet grabbed a hat-trick when she found the target in the 48th, 53rd and 63rd minute.
The rest of Vietnam’s goals were scored by Nguyen Thi Hoa in the eighth minute, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung (54th) and Nguyen Thi Xuyen (76th).
