HO CHI MINH CITY (1 Sept 2012) – All matches involving hosts Vietnam for the AFF Under-19 Preparatory Tournament this week will be telecast ‘live’ on local TV channel.
With heavyweights Australia, Uzbekistan and Iran taking part, hosts Vietnam will be fully tested as to the level of their preparation for the AFC U19 Championship this November.
All matches will be played at the 20,000 capacity Thong Nhat Stadium with Australia taking on Uzbekistan in the first game tomorrow before the second match between the hosts and Iran.
In the meantime, other than the high level of preparedness on the part of the organisers, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), to successfully hold the tournament this year, it was also revealed that all eight match officials have passed their fitness test this morning.
The championship this year will see four FIFA referees and four FIFA assistant referees from across ASEAN being given the task of officiating these matches involving some of the best talents in Asia.
And their decisions on the field will be closely monitored by the two referee assessors – Thongpasueth Phonesirignavong and Mohamad Rodzali Yaacob.
