VIENTIANE (23 Aug 2013) – Following from their uninspiring trip to Vietnam recently, the Laos national Under-19 team could not have gained a better test than to play against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a friendly tomorrow in Malaysia.
With UAE currently having a camp in the Malaysian capital, the Laos Football Federation (LFF) have confirmed the game at the Shah Alam Stadium.
“We will be up against the region’s best at the AFF U19 Championships next month (in Surabaya, Indonesia) which means the Laos team will also need to be at their best to compete,” said coach ChandalaponeLiepvisay.
“After analysing what transpired in Vietnam we need to focus on improving the players’ techniques for the friendly in Malaysia.”
In their recent trip to Pleiku, the Laos national U19 conceded a 5-1 loss and also a 3-0 defeat to the Vietnam national U19 squad. However, they bounced back in their third and final friendly to beat a Hoang AnhGia Lai club side 1-0.
