JAKARTA (30 August 2014) –Indonesia will be looking to improve on their combination play when the AFF U19 Championship opens in Hanoi on 5-15 September 2014.
Head coach Rudy Keltjes said that while the likes of Angga Febriyanto, Martinus Novianto and Adi Nugroho have been identified to lead the squad, the combination play is still not at the level it should be.
“We must be able to defend as a team because of the quality of the opponents at this championship,” said Keltjes.
The team had just come off a 1-0 loss to Villa 2000 in a friendly in Sawangan last week.
For the AFF meet, Indonesia are in Group A against Myanmar and Thailand. Group B are Japan, hosts Vietnam and Australia.
