NAYPYITAW (21 Aug 2013) – M. Kogilaswaran’s hat-trick led Malaysia to a 6-0 win over the Philippines in the second match of Group B of the AFF AYA Bank Under-16 Championship this evening at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium.
The win has allowed Malaysia to take the lead in the group while Indonesia are second following their 4-0 win over Laos in an earlier match.
With the rain not showing any sign of a let-up, the Malaysian lads got into the scoring act early in the 12th minute when Kogi slammed in off an opportunistic strike before Muhammad Hafiy Ismail then added the second goal with a 28th minute header.
With the score at 2-0 at the break, Malaysia picked up the pace and just seven minutes into the second half, they went further in front with Muhamad Shahrul Mohd Adnan making good on Muhammad Najmuddin Samat’s hardwork.
Muhamad Shahrul then added another in the 78th minute with a 28th minute scorcher before Kogi then added two more goals in the 85th and 90th minute for the final scoreline.
