HANOI (19 July 2012) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have identified either Japan or Slovakia as their likely destination for a training camp in preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup this November.
The 2009 champions have penned in at least 10 international friendlies as they gear up for the challenge in Group A of the meet against hosts Thailand, the Philippines and the winner from the October qualifying round.
Prior to their training camp abroad, the team will take on Indonesia twice – on 15 September (at home in Hanoi) and then 22 September (away in Jakarta).
After the training camp, the team under chief coach Phan Thanh Hung will then take part in the annual VFF Cup which will involve teams from Iran, North Korea and Turmenistan on 24-28 October in HCM City.
The team will play three more friendlies after the VFF Cup before the first game of the AFF Suzuki Cup on 24 November.
