BANGKOK (25 July 2012) – Three-times ASEAN champions Thailand have lined up games against the Thai Premier League (TPL) All-Star next month and Myanmar in September.
The FA of Thailand (FAT) confirmed this week that the Thai national side, who will be hosting Group A of the AFF Suzuki Cup in November, will play TPL All-Star on 15 August and then Myanmar 12 on September.
“I am pleased with the arrangement. I have selected Chiang Mai as our training camp because everything there is good such as the weather, accomodation and food,” said Winfried Schaefer (pix), the chief coach of Thailand.
“I do not have any conflict with the Thai FA. We have worked together smoothly. Our goal for the AFF Suzuki Cup is to reach the final and I believe we can do it.”
For the AFF Suzuki Cup, Group A will see Thailand battling Vietnam, the Philippines and also the winning team from the qualifying round in October.
Group B are Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and the runners-up team from the qualifiers.
