SINGAPORE (3 Sept 2014) – Singapore have lined up matches against Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong this month as part of their preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup which they will be co-hosting in November.
The defending champions will take on Papua on 6 September before taking on Hong Kong three days later. Both matches will be played at the Hougang Stadium, with kick-off at 7.30pm.
“The national team has benefitted greatly from the recent training tour to Austria and the Singapore Selection’s friendly against Juventus FC. These upcoming international friendly matches will serve as a way for us to have more time to play and train together,” said Bernd Stange, the head coach of Singapore.
“This can only be good for us, as it allows the players to get used to playing together as a team with the style I am implementing. We are looking forward to playing against Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong.”
