HANOI (10 Dec 2014) – As Vietnam coach Toshiya Miura took a more a cautious approach ahead of the return tie of the semi-finals tomorrow, Malaysian boss Dollah Salleh is all in as they go for broke for a place in the final this year.
Vietnam have taken a huge step for a place in the final of the AFF Suzuki Cup following their 2-1 win over Malaysia in the first leg at the Shah Alam Stadium last week.
“It is some advantage but there is no guarantee that we will win the game if we don’t work for it,” said Miura. “There is still another 90 minutes to play for and everyone is in a good condition for the game.
“I have yet to decide who will be the captain as both Le (Tan Tai) and Le (Cong Vinh) have their qualities. We will just have to see the tactic on the day.
“People are saying that it will be an easy game since we are playing at home but I disagree. We will have our work cut out tomorrow.”
In the meantime, the return of Mohd Shukor Adan and also Mohd Amri Yahyah should give Dollah more attacking options as he look to overturn the 2-1 deficit from the first leg.
But as he pointed out, there should not be an over reliance on the two players where the more pertinent point is for each and every player to play their part should they are called upon.
“I believe that almost all of the players are at the same level,” added Dollah. “If they are in the first 11, then they must play at the best possible level.
“For me, this is it. We have to put in 200% if we want to make the final this year. The condition is good for us to play the best football. It is a little cold but we should be able to adapt to the prevailing condition.”
