MANILA (5 Dec 2014) – Thailand, the hot favourites following their convincing run in the group stages, are running high on confidence. In fact, after three smashing performances against Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar, the Thais may be overflowing with confidence.
“We came here to win, the entire team is feeling very confident,” said Adison Promrak at the pre-Match Press Conference here. “We have all been working hard and preparing for this game.”
The Thais, who arrived here yesterday, brought forward their training session from this evening to this morning. “We want to make sure we get in all the training as I don’t want to miss out on our pre-match preparations,” said Thai coach Kiatisuk Senamuang when met this morning.
Kiatisuk did not attend the press conference as he was tied up with training. “I heard the weather had not been very good and it sometimes rains in the evenings, so we decided to switch sessions to the morning.”
Standing in for Kiatisuk at the Press Conference was former player, Choketawi Promrut who said everyone in the team had been working hard. “We realize the Filipinos are strong, they are not the same team that we played earlier, they have others now.”
In a friendly ahead of the AFF Suzuki Cup, the Philippines suffered a 3-0 loss to Thailand. But Choketawi warned that things would be different tomorrow. “It will be a tough game.”
