JAKARTA (14 March 2014) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have targeted Spain as their destination later this month in preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup at the end of the year.
With the Indonesian Super League (ISL) taking a break on 20 March -11 April due to national election, the team under Alfred Riedl is taking the opportunity to inject continuity into the squad.
“It would be a waste if the break in the Super League is not being utilized to the maximum for national team activities,” said Joko Driyono, the general secretary of the PSSI.
“Alfred has requested for continuity in as far as preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014.”
The team which is expected to leave for Spain on 20 March has penciled in three friendlies during their sojourn – against Andorra, Kuba and another local side.
