BANGKOK (19 Oct 2013) – It was not quite a devastating performance but Indonesia did enough to win full points in their first game in Group B to demolish Myanmar 5-3 as Laos battled to a 2-2 draw against Timor Leste in the second game of the afternoon.
Bambang Saptaji earned a hat-trick with goals in the 4th, 11th and 28th minute as Andri Kustiawan (24th) and Anza Restuian Mas (23rd) add the other goals.
Myanmar replied off Pyae Pho Maung (26th minute), Kyaw Kyaw Tun (33rd) and Aung Aung (39th).
“Some of the players were not playing their usual game,” said Andri Irawan, the chief coach of Indonesia. “But it was an important three points which we should use to do better in our next game.”

In the meantime, Laos and Timor Leste put up a battling performance as they settled for a 2-2 draw.
Following the early jitters, Laos finally went ahead twice in the 15th minute through Somphone Samphaonong and Souk Ananh Phanphendy.
But Timor were quick on the draw for Jose Gusmao Carvalho Vong to pull a goal back barely a minute later for Laos to be in front 2-1 at the half.
With Laos missing several sitters into the second half, it was Timor who grabbed the equalizing goal with Manuel Varela Pereira making full use of a goal mouth melee in the 33rd minute.
“We should have won all three points,” said Laos coach Bunlert Charoenwong. “We were already in front and we let them come back into the game.”
