DILI (25 Nov 2010) – Following the unanimous decision of the AFF Council this afternoon, it was decided that the eight teams playing in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 next month will be allowed to make changes to their registration of 30 players.
But they will only be allowed to make three changes to the list and where they have to submit the final list by Saturday afternoon. On the day of the team managers’ meeting (30 Nov in Jakarta and 1 Dec in Hanoi), teams will have to trim down the list to 22 players of which 20 can be registered on match days. The decision to allow the last minute change was due to the fact that several teams suffered heavy casualties at the Asian Games in Guangzhou and where they have had to look for alternatives. Group A of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 comprise of hosts Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos while Group B are hosts Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and Philippines. In the meantime, Laos have offered to host the AFF Under-16 Championship 2011 while Myanmar will host the AFF Under-19 Championship 2011. The AFF Futsal Championship 2011 will be held in the Philippines provided they pass an inspection visit in early January.
