YANGON (13 Aug 2015) – Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) Chief Executive Officer U Than Zaw has commended the AFC’s club-focussed workshops for their part in helping to develop football in the ASEAN nation.
Speaking at the opening of the AFC’s Kick Off Project, which features workshops on club marketing and club finance, U Than Zaw remarked:
“We have introduced club licensing regulations for entry into the Myanmar National League based on AFC standards. These regulations provide a professional structure for our clubs and we are very grateful to the AFC for these workshops, which provide additional content to strengthen this professional structure.”
The two-day club marketing workshop concluded on Wednesday while the club finance workshop will be held on Thursday and Friday, with the decision to focus on these two areas based on the outcome an AFC Special Missions Team visit to Myanmar last July.
Representatives from all 12 Myanmar National League (MNL) top-flight clubs and ten second division teams are taking part in the four-day event taking place at the Goal Hotel in Yangon.
