YANGON (29 Oct 2015) – The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) have been slapped with a total fine of USD 25,500 for various infringements during the recent AFC U19 Championship Group G qualifiers which they hosted at the YTC Stadium earlier this month.
The fines were imposed on the MFF for failure to provide adequate security and the behaviour of their fans in the matches against Hong Kong and Vietnam.
For the infringements in the match against Hong Kong, the MFF have been ordered to pay a fine of USD 6,000 for violating Article 67.1 of the AFC Disciplinary Code and an additional USD 4,500 for violating Article 65 of the Code.
For the game against Vietnam, the MFF have been ordered to pay a fine of USD 7,500 and also USD 7,500 for the same two offences.
In addition, the MFF have also been ordered to play one (1) match in AFC competitions without spectators.
This order shall apply to the next match in AFC competitions hosted by the MFF involving one of their male representative teams.
In accordance with Article 33.4 of the Code, the order is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years. Should another violation of Article 67 of the Code occur within the probationary period, the suspension is automatically revoked and the sanction applied; it is added to the sanction pronounced for the new infringement .
Myanmar’s opening game of the U19 qualifiers against Brunei had been played behind closed doors as a punishment for previous breaches.
