BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (30 March 2012) – Brunei national striker Adi Said will see action in the S-League this year when he made the revelation that he will sign for Brunei’s only professional club.
Adi was a pleasant surprise at last year’s SEA Games in Indonesia for the Brunei Under-23 side and where he then followed it up with another sterling performance at the recent Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy in which the home side emerged winners.
“It has always been my dream to play for DPMM FC and that dream has finally come true,” said Adi this week. “”I took my first beep test for DPMM FC this month and now I am just waiting for the second test.
“I played for Majra FC on Sunday because my name is registered with the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD), but I have already handed my passport and ID to DPMM FC to register at S-league.”
Adi currently plays for Majra FC in the DST National League and should he make the move to DPMM, he will be joining his older brother Shahrazen.
“This is a big opportunity for me, I’ve spoken to Majra FC officials and they are OK with it. This is for the best, I want to improve myself as a footballer and move on to the next level,” added Adi.
“The final decision is mine – both Majra FC and DPMM FC will respect any decision. And I choose to play for DPMM FC.”
