SHAH ALAM (22 July 2013) – A Chelsea workout saw them strolling to a 4-1 beating of the Malaysian XI side last night at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Just six minutes into the game and Chelsea delivered the blues on the Malaysians when Bertrand Traore slammed in the lead off a cross from Kevin De Bruyne. Malaysia then tightened up their game somewhat in front of more than 45,000 fans to fend off the Chelsea onslaught right until the half hour mark.
In the 29th minute, it was De Bruyne’s turn to make the score sheet with a half-volley after a flick from Romelu Lukaku as the latter then finished the first half with the third goal for Chelsea.
A handful of changes into the second half and Chelsea were struggling to get back their rhythm. But with a minute left of the game, Victor Moses made good on a through ball from Islam Feruz for Chelsea’s fourth goal of the evening.
Hosts Malaysia then pulled a goal back from Mohd Fahdli Shas right at the death for the final scoreline.
