JAKARTA (5 Jan 2014) – The preliminary round of the Inter-Island Cup will see a total of 22 teams do battle in six zones all over the country.
The preliminary round will be held on 10-14 January 2014.
“Since there are only two teams in the Sumatra zone, the winner will be decided on just home and away basis,” said Joko Driyono, the chief executive officer of organisers PT Liga Indonesia.
For the Jawa zones which have three groups with four teams each, only the group winner will make the passage into the quarter-finals.
The remaining four teams will come from the Papua/Sulawesi and also the Kalimantan zones with the group winner and also the runners-up teams.
The quarter-finals will be on 18-22 January.
