DILI (13 Nov 2011) – All three surviving ASEAN representatives playing in the third round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers crashed to heavy defeats last night.
Thailand has no answer to a second half onslaught from Saudi Arabia when they conceded three goals to give Frank Rijkaard’s men their first win in Group D.
At the King Fahd International Stadium, Naif Hazazi put the home team ahead in the 59th minute before Ahmed Al Fraidi then doubled the lead in the 80th minute. Captain Mohammed Noor then sealed the win from the penalty spot nine minutes later.
Deep in injury time, defender Theerathon Bunmathan was red carded.

In the meantime, Indonesia crashed to a 4-0 loss to Qatar with Khalfan Ibrahim netting a double in the 33rd minute penalty and 64th minute. The other goals for the Qataris were scored by Mohamad Razak in the 30th minute and Sebastian Soria in the 90th minute.

On the other hand, Singapore were also at the receiving end with Jordan running out 2-0 winners. The scorers for the Jordanians at the Amman International Stadium were Ahmad Ibrahim in the 15th minute and Amer Deeb in the 65th minute.
