BANGKOK (26 May 2009) – An 8-3 win over Sripatum on the weekend has allowed CAT Telecom to open up a three point lead at the top of the Thai Futsal League 2009.
But the tie began in earnest enough as not even a minute into the action, the score was already tied 1-1 with Guilherme Da Silva scoring for CAT Telecom as Pongsakorn Jantarasaka nailed the opener for Sripatum. Pongsakorn then scored the second goal for Sripatum barely a minute later before Surasak Arj-eam (7th and 11th minute), Lertchai Issarasuwipakorn (11th), Alongkorn Pratumwong (16th) and Worawit Wiriyakitmongkol (18th) as well as an own goal from Cherdsak Suntornsiri in the 13th minute allowed CAT to take a comfortable 7-2 lead at the half. CAT Telecom then made sure of the points with their eighth goal on 25th minute through Guilherme as Pongsakorn then completed his hat trick five minutes to the end. Still on second is Chonburi Bluewave who kept up the pressure at the top of the table with an 8-2 victory over Rattana Bundit with international Panuwat Janta scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 19th, 34th and 34th minute. The other goal scorers for Chonburi were Supawut Thueanklang (22nd and 36th minute), Ekapong Suratsawang (25th and 26th) and Natee Tusiri in the 39th minute. The two goalscorers for Rattana were Teerapong Boonrawd in the 15th minute and Kitsanupong Yuchomwong in the 33rd minute. I AM Sport were also winners on the day when they overcame Bangkok Glass 5-2 while defending champions Port Authority of Thailand picked up their fifth win of the season with a 5-3 demolition of Nonthaburi.
